Interplanetary World Music

Formed in 2023, Midbrain Surfers is a Winnipeg, MB based quartet that create improvised music for concert and mixed media. Combining overtone/throat singing plus extended vocal techniques, jaw harps, melodica, slide-didgeridoo, electric oud, fretless bass, electro-acoustic percussion and electronics, their eclectic sound baths blend elements of jazz, neo-classical, world fusion, trip-hop, ambient, avant-garde and experimental music into dynamic, genre-defying, groove-driven spontaneous compositions.

Alchemy, Telepathy, Intuition and a wealth of musical experience crazy glue these players whose deep listening skills render the moment into otherworldly sonic panoramas.

Live performances may include guest artists such as saxophonist Leonard “Lewsh” Shaw, and guitarist Laurie McKenzie. More to come over the next while.
